    🔥 YCYW EDUCATIONAL LECTURE SERIES - 25/26 LECTURE 16

Topic: Shaping Student Character Through Sports, Empowering Holistic Education

When the whistle at a school football match teaches children to respect the rules, when perseverance during long-distance running training hones their resilience, and when teamwork in team sports sparks innovative thinking, physical education has long since transcended the single objective of ‘building physical fitness’ to become a core part of the curriculum for shaping the well-rounded character of young people.

On 25 June at 19:00, YWIES Yantai, in partnership with Yantai Dowin Sports Group, will host an in-depth educational dialogue. Grounded in the philosophy of ‘whole-person education’ and drawing on cutting-edge brain science research and over two decades of practical experience in youth sports, we will explore how sport can truly empower children’s futures.

    • Speaker Introductions:

      Mr Haoyu Wang

      • Chairman of Yantai Dowin Sports Group
      • President of China Taishan Beidou Alliance

      Lecture Time: Thursday, 25 June 2026, 19:00

      📍Lecture Venue:

      YWIES Yantai

No. 9 Tianshan Road, Yantai Economic and Technological Development Zone, Shandong, China

      Sneak Peek at Lecture Highlights:

      • Dispelling Misconceptions about Sport through Scientific Research
      • Demonstrating the dual value of sport in fostering resilience and enhancing academic performance
      • Using real-life examples to illustrate how sport helps develop self-discipline, resilience, teamwork and the ability to cope with pressure

True ‘holistic education’ has never been about pitting academic learning against sport; rather, it is about making sport a solid foundation for children to explore the world and shape their character. In this era of uncertainty, we need not only to nurture students with solid academic abilities, but also to forge future leaders who possess self-discipline, resilience and a strong capacity to cope with setbacks.

Let us not allow ingrained prejudices to limit the boundless potential for our children’s all-round development. Let us explore together the path of future education based on the ‘symbiosis of sport and learning’, and witness how sport provides the strongest armour for our children’s growth!
